L.A.-headquartered Asylum Entertainment Group has signed first-look deals with non-scripted filmmakers Lamont Pete and his Water2Drink Productions, and John H. Kelleher and his shingle Mohawk Puppy Productions.
A 20-year veteran of the industry, Pete (pictured left) has a long track record in music and TV crossovers, with credits that include the BET singing competition Sunday Best, The CW talent search series Pussycat Dolls Present and the groundbreaking MTV reality show The Real World.
Kelleher (pictured right) has credits across a range of unscripted genres, including VH1’s Baller Wives, the TNT wrestling docuseries Rhodes to the Top, Discovery’s Tales from the Explorers Club and paranormal series Expedition X.
The new deals come as Asylum continues to expand its international footprint, with recent moves including investments in UK-based prodcos Moon&Back Media, Soho Studios Entertainment and DARE Pictures, as well as the establishment of a new Vancouver office led by Brad Bernstein, head of Asylum label Texas Crew Productions.
“The addition of Lamont and John to our roster of talent reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering innovative and engaging non-scripted content,” said Asylum president Jodi Flynn in a release. “Their unique perspectives bring a new dynamic to our work, and we are eager to start collaborating with them to curate an exciting slate.”
Lamont Pete is represented by Robyn Lattaker-Johnson. Kelleher is represented by Gersh and attorney Thomas Hanna.
